PMO Analyst 

Working from home / Manchester Office

Grade: CR3

 35 hours, full time - Flexible work patterns

 

Role Overview:

We have an exciting opportunity for a PMO Analyst to join our team! As a PMO Analyst, you will support the PMO Lead to embed standardised governance and change practices across the portfolio. You would also be responsible for providing appropriate management controls and analysis to ensure effective change governance to support the successful delivery of the portfolio transformation strategy and vision. This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid proven PMO background gained within a financial services environment.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for driving project governance and assuring project control

  • Identification of any themes impacting project delivery

  • Act as subject matter expert on Bank Change methodologies, processes, toolkits and templates, providing a source of expertise and coaching to delivery teams and scrums on change governance and methodology expectations.

  • Support the PMO Lead in providing appropriate management controls for the overall portfolio, including:

  • Milestone delivery and timescales

  • Quality assurance controls

  • Costs

  • Benefits, financial and non-financial

  • Risks & Issues management, tracking and escalations

  • Interdependency management

  • Change control

  • Stakeholder mapping

  • Assurance for the finance controls across the portfolio and production of detailed financial analysis. Support with the administration of investment portfolio budgets, including raising purchase orders, receipting invoices and supporting financial reconciliation activity

  • Creation of portfolio-level status reports and other portfolio management information

  • Contribute to audit and health check activity on projects and programmes within the portfolio

  • Develop and maintain an effective means of organising and managing portfolio documentation including appropriate version control

  • Coaching programme and project teams on the Bank’s Change methodologies, processes, toolkits and templates

  • Recommending improvements or amendments to existing change methodology, processes, tools, and templates.

Technical Capabilities:

  • Strong understanding of project controls and standards with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to assimilate and interpret information from many different sources
  • Expert planning and dependency management skills
  • Financial analysis and tracking
  • Self-motivated, proactive and highly organised, with an eye for detail
  • Advanced skills in MS Office applications – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project.

 

Knowledge, skills & experience required:

  • Solid background working in a PMO role at a project, programme, or portfolio level, ideally within the financial services industry
  • Industry knowledge of waterfall and agile change methodologies and scalability of controls within the change framework
  • Proficient in cost & benefits management, financial analysis, reporting & tracking
  • Ability to critically evaluate project outputs and challenge project and programme managers
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills
  • Proven presentation skills, both written and verbal.
