Remote/Manchester office base

The role:
As the Head of People Business Partnering, you’ll lead and manage the Business Partnering team and Partner with the a business directorate to deliver consistently high quality, commercially focused HR and ER support aligned with the Bank’s business objectives and people strategy.  

Key Accountabilities:

*       Lead and manage the Business Partnering teams to develop and deliver effective business plans aligned to the Bank’s business objectives. Identifying where input or support is needed from Centres of Excellence and contracting for/facilitating this support to enable effective delivery of business plans.

*       Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of the People & Sustainability strategy, ensuring alignment to the Bank strategy.

*       Responsible for organisational level negotiations with Trade Unions on behalf of the business, especially during periods of major organisational change and maintaining strong positive relationships

*       Act as an escalation point for complex matters including legal cases, queries and disputes. Leads on complex employee relationships and oversees all tribunal cases

*       Regularly assess key people metrics including diversity & inclusion metrics to identify potential issues and make recommendations using Centres of Excellence where appropriate to implement solutions to mitigate.

*       Coach and influence the Exec & their leadership teams to identify and respond to people issues and opportunities in order to maximise the effectiveness of their people and to facilitate delivery of operational business plans

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

*       Personal and professional credibility required to coach and influence senior managers, predominantly Executive, Directors and Head of roles

*       Has a proven ability to build trusting relationships with key stakeholders quickly and to influence at all levels – may be required to operate at ‘higher’ or ‘lower’ levels than typical audience.

*       Commercially-focussed approach, based on thorough understanding of the business and the external market place.

*        Strong knowledge of all HR disciplines – either CIPD qualified or equivalent experience in one or more specialist area and able to communicate this in a business focussed way.

*       Able to demonstrate previous success in a business partnering capacity – can demonstrate added value and contribution to improved business performance.

*       Able to maintain momentum and resilience during change and uncertainty.

*       Demonstrable track record of developing and coaching a team to realise their potential.

*        Flexibility and mobility will be required to provide support to the business as demand dictates

*       Maintain knowledge of and adherence to all relevant regulatory guidelines
