We promote a hybrid working environment, which means you will work at our office in Manchester roughly once a week and then remotely from home. To enable you to work from home, you will need have a suitable office set up which includes a desk and a chair in a location which is free from the interruptions of day-to-day life.

 

The role: 

As a senior developer/analyst, you will proactively identify, recommend and deliver a range of complex data & MI solutions, engage autonomously with other cross functional subject matter experts and display a high level of competence and in depth knowledge of our bank’s systems and data.

 

Key Accountabilities:

*       Lead the development of complex and/or large scale developments, ensuring that solution design is appropriate for the application and ensuring the development lifecycle and governance are followed at all times.

*       Proactively identify issues, risks, assumptions and dependencies during project phases; formulate mitigating actions and implement measures to reduce, remove or manage them.

*       Provide support to junior colleagues and to wider team to deliver tasks, encourage development, transfer knowledge and provide training.

*       Deputise for the Data Development Manager when required to ensure development progress is maintained and issues are resolved or escalated.

*       Actively seek to build and maintain relationships with a range of internal stakeholders to support the provision of solutions.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

*       Extensive experience using SAS and its components (DI, EG, Management Console, optional: SAS Viya) within the UK banking sector

*       Experience in leading on a project through all lifecycle stages: gathering and clarifying requirements, creating supporting documentation, design, development and testing, preparing for implementation

*       Demonstrable problem solving/analytical skillset

*       Excellent people negotiation, influencing and communication skills

*       High level of planning and organisation skills

*       Excellent verbal and written communication skills including Microsoft Office experience
