The role:
As a Senior Analyst in Compliance Assurance you’ll help provide assurance to the Bank that compliance and financial crime risks are being managed within the Risk Management Framework. We’re looking for you to be passionate about protecting our customers, and have a genuine desire to want to ensure that our customers always receive a good outcome. Using the Bank’s data you’ll also take a proactive approach when working on assurance activity allowing you to identify areas that need improving. The successful Senior Analyst will need to have excellent stakeholder management experience and must be able to convey important findings to ensure stakeholders are able to fix and improve any issues within their area.
Key Accountabilities:
Undertake data and systems interrogation and analysis to inform and support compliance reviews, providing the bank with assurance over the risk management framework and conduct, financial crime and regulatory risk in the day-to-day operations of the bank
Perform stakeholder engagement to define the objectives and scope of assurance reviews, and aid stakeholder understanding of key risks and issues within their respective business areas
Deliver 2nd line compliance assurance plan within agreed timescales and budgets, by leading and assisting the delivery of analysis and assurance activity.
Track actions to completion and escalate to senior management all overdue actions for onward reporting to relevant stakeholders and committees
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
Experience in regulatory requirements applicable to retail & SME
Knowledge of and ability to interpret regulatory rules
Highly developed analytical and interpretative skills
Excellent communication, relationship building and influencing skills, able to present effectively at meetings with senior managers and provide robust feedback to colleagues
Dynamic and positive behavioural style, with ability to be demanding when appropriate
Proven ability to produce clear and concise reports (to agreed standards) supported by the factual accuracy of the assurance activity undertaken
Excellent record keeping skills
Must be customer focused ensuring the fair treatment of customers, the delivery of appropriate customer outcomes and prevention of customer harm
Ability to respond positively to change and act as a role model to others
Technical expertise in analytical tools and techniques with strong excel skills, SAS skills, tableau would be advantageous
