This position is hybrid based, with the requirement to attend our Manchester or London site once a week.

 

The role:

 

2024 is an exciting time to join our Product Team, due to continued growth we have an opportunity for a Proposition Product Development Manager to be part of the ongoing growth. Responsible for supporting the development of an ongoing pipeline of commercially and ethically successful sustainable propositions and partnerships for clients and customer.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Drive the development of content, research and design of propositions, whilst working collaboratively with the wider Product team and across the Bank to ensure propositions are aligned with Bank strategy
  • Identify and develop propositions that support the Bank's commercial objectives that reflect external drivers from pilot to market launch
  • Manage and deliver against the proposition strategy and product roadmap.
  • Support delivery against the priority of customer segments, building on the Bank’s brand positioning through its Values and Ethics to define customer needs and outcomes.
  • Identify the end-to-end customer journey including customer acquisition and retention strategies to support the full lifecycle of new proposition development
  • Ensure that distribution strategy for propositions deliver good broker and/or customer outcomes as part of the product design

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Good knowledge and understanding of the Retail banking and/or SME sector, commercial drivers and market dynamics
  • Track record in product management or proposition development or management role
  • Track record in forecasting and financial interpretation skills
  • Proven stakeholder management skills and ability to influence, support and challenge across teams on the approach to a proposition design and overcome conflicting views
  • Ability to make recommendations in relation to the support provided and services carried out within company guidelines and broader procedures, with freedom in deciding on the best approach to deliver required outcomes
  • Strong communication and creative problem-solving skills to identify opportunities within product design, customer experience and commercial outcomes within product line
  • Makes decisions where representing the Product team in committees
  • Ability to structure and complete complex analysis and evidence to inform decision-making

 

Desirable but not essential

 

  • Knowledge of environmental and social issues that impact a Retail Bank and its customers.
  • Understanding of climate-change risk, regulation surrounding this and how it impacts a Retail Bank.
  • Management of external strategic partnerships.
