Principal Business Analyst - Secondment Opportunity

Band B

Purpose of role:

To act as a primary point of contact for portfolio leads. ensure that the overall quality and calibre of BA deliverables over the whole practice supports rapid and successful change delivery. work closely with portfolio leads to ensure the right resources are sourced, deployed and highly utilised. assure the overall quality of all BA deliverables and manage the performance management and development of the practice.

Key Accountabilities:

*       Creation of a ‘Terms Of Reference (TOR = BA & Project contract) – ensuring BA deliverables are documented and associated dates in line with project scale

*       Review and approve ‘Terms Of Reference (TOR) which lists BA deliverables, ensuring these are in line with service offering

*       Complete governance reviews of the overall project deliverables matched with the BA output to ensure processes/procedures are applied (inc risk procedures are adhered to)

*       Creation of BA work packages / deliverables across project multiple streams

*       Deliver consultancy for ‘new’ projects/ideas – identifying/defining effort, as required by the Bank Design & Roadmap lead

*       Review/implement BA assignments ensuring BAs are matched to appropriate project priorities, skills, capability and to achieve maximum utilisation

*       Management of people ensuring Banks performance policies are adhered to and effectively applied

*       People governance procedures are in place and consistently applied (timesheets / budgets)

*       Review of BA area to ensure best in class standards in place via implementation of the continuous improvement activities

*       Identify & implement training to enhance skills (& Project Managers to a lesser extent) to bridge skills gaps &/or enhance capability and consistent application of processes / procedures (inc: succession planning)

Knowledge Skills & Experience:

*       Experience of fulfilling effective quality assurance of BA deliverables within a programme

*       Experience of Leading departments / areas of change

*       Experience in leading commercial tenders

*       Excellent knowledge of business analysis and of Industry best practice

*       Excellent senior stakeholder management skills, up to Business Leader level, being able to manage differing levels of engagement, consultation and estimation negotiation

*       Good understanding of commercial acumen, financial and legislative requirements

*       Thorough understanding of the company’s products and business strategy and the associated processes

*       Proven experience and application of sourcing, training and coaching business analysts

*       Proven experience of business analysis within financial services

*       Proven people/line management skills and experience

*       Significant knowledge of Business Analyst tools and techniques

*       Significant knowledge and experience in the use of appropriate lifecycle methodologies

*       Strong member/customer focus and ability to promote this same focus and culture across the wider team

*       Knowledge of project governance and risk management frameworks

*       Experience of driving continuous improvement

        Strong level of planning and organising skills
