Payment Operations Senior Adviser
12 Month Secondment
Hybrid – Home and Manchester 2 days a week
Hours - Monday-Friday 35 per week between 8:30am-18:00pm.
Salary Banding – DR3
The role:
As a Payments Operations Senior Adviser, you will support the day-to-day payment processing activity to support our customer requests and settlement payments. Ensuring compliance with internal policies, market regulations and cut-off times while providing excellent customer service and setting Payments up for success.
Key Accountabilities:
* Process and monitor foreign currency payments accurately and within deadlines
* Good understanding of the customer foreign payment journey
* Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies and settlement issues with customers and third parties
* Deputise in Team Managers absence for team and department meetings
* Liase with internal teams (Compliance, Treasury, Customer Services) to ensure seamless payment operations
* Assist in implementing process improvements to enhance payment efficiency and risk mitigation
* Ensure adherence to AML, sanctions, and regulatory requirements in all payment activities
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
* Knowledge of the regulatory requirements and rules that govern payments across the bank to ensure compliance is maintained
* Knowledge of payment operations and supporting systems
* Good understanding of payment scheme rules and regulations
* Good stakeholder management at all levels
* Ability to communicate effectively at senior level, in a style appropriate to audience
* Confidence in data / MI collation and interpretation
* Skills in planning and managing deadlines, timetables and prioritisation
* Good understanding of The Co-operative Bank’s customers and competitors
* Passion for delivering great customer service and taking ownership of customer queries
