Manager- Credit Risk Analytics & Insight

Role Purpose:

To lead the Analytics & Insight team who are the business owners of all regular Credit Risk reporting used across the business in relation to the Corporate and Retail portfolios (current accounts, credit cards, personal loans, mortgages and specialist products).  This also includes delivery and/or oversight of both regular and adhoc regulatory report requests. The primary objective is to streamline, optimise and develop new regular reporting and across Credit Risk providing portfolio insight and monitoring internal / industry trends. In addition, the role holder is responsible for training and support of new analysts into Credit Risk.

 

Key Accountabilities:

*       Responsible for direct line management of two analysts and ensuring the team develop and achieve their objectives

*       Lead delivery of training across new credit risk analysts and act as mentor / point of contact for their ongoing development

*       Delivering all regular Credit Risk reports on-time and with a high degree of accuracy

*       Lead or delegate regular reviews of reporting to gain portfolio insight and share findings or highlighting any concerns to key stakeholders

*       Lead reviews to improve on existing BAU processes to minimise production and manual collation time

*       Maintain an up-to-date schedule and dependencies document with relevant procedures for all regular reporting

*       Consolidate processes run by the portfolio risk teams into Analytics & Insight

*       Evaluate and establish information sources, and carry out research activity, so that reports are based on sound and up-to-date data

*       Provide risk oversight for Regulatory and 3rd Party reports/requests, e.g. PRA, Fitch, Moody’s, ensuring they give a true and fair view of the portfolio

*       Share knowledge and enable cross-training of analysts in the team to eliminate key man dependencies

*       Build and maintain relationships and networks, internally and externally, seeking and sharing good practice and knowledge to support continuous improvement

*       Keep knowledge up-to-date in respect of credit risk management and develop skills to enhance personal capability in the role

*       Understand and assess the impact of wider Banking Group projects on the team/reports e.g. software or hardware upgrades

*       Have an awareness of regulatory changes and understand the impact on existing or new reporting

 

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES:

*       Advanced SAS user 

*       Advanced Microsoft Excel user

*       Advanced SQL knowledge

*       Credit Risk knowledge and experience

*       Educated to degree level in an analytical discipline

*       Knowledge of credit risk management and associated analytical techniques and practices, include knowledge of scorecards, pricing, forecasting methodologies, & provisioning calculations

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

*       Experience of improving efficiency and running times of existing processes

*       Experience interrogating large data (1m+ records) and varied data sources

*       Excellent attention to detail

*       Planning and organisation skills – including the ability to deliver under high pressure and time limited scenarios

*       A forward thinker and problem solver with a proven track record of developing creative solutions to complex issues and delivery with defined timescales

*       Proven mentoring, coaching or leadership skills

*       Understanding and awareness of Basel and associated regulatory capital requirements / calculations

*       Experience of using Business Objects

*       Experience leading small to medium sized projects

*       Understanding of data warehouse design
