Senior Software Engineer – Front End X2

Balloon Street, Manchester

Band C

35 hours per week, full time

Why we need you

As a Senior Software Engineer/Front End Developer at the Bank, you will be working within our one of our Digital Scrum teams and have a clear focus and responsibility for innovation and building our mobile applications, on line banking services and websites. 

 

You will be building client-side applications that provides our customers with the services they need, when they need it. With a consistent customer focus, you will help evolve our client-side applications to meet customer’s needs and adapt to industry changes.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for a strong front-end software engineer that can help drive our technology choices and direction. We want an enthusiastic Agile advocate with a passion for learning who is equally happy hands-on with code or mentoring junior team members.

Your focus will be predominantly on front-end development but a broader understanding of the full software stack and the ability to assist the back-end specialists when needed would be advantageous. For the right candidate we have the opportunity to develop from a senior into a lead. 

 

Knowledge, Skills required:

  • Strong JavaScript exposure (vanilla JS, prototypes, React JS, Angular)
  • Strong HTML and CSS (inc practica knowledge of SASS/LESS)
  • Solid understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Exposure to front-end test automation (Jasmine, Selenium etc)
  • To understand front-end build tools (NPM, Grunt, Gulp)
  • Skilled within code and artefact repositories (Github, SVN, Artifactory, Nexus)
  • Content Management and Delivery
  • Substantial appreciation of web application development processes
  • Strong object-oriented programming knowledge and knowledge of good design patterns
  • Track record of successful software delivery
  • Experience working in an Agile/DevOps software development environment
