Key responsibilities: Head of UX & Optimisation is responsible for the end to end user experience across all Digital platforms including the website, online banking and the mobile app across Retail & SME. Ensuring that all digital products and services meet the needs of our users and align with business objectives. The role is responsible for the day to day running of the UX and Optimisation teams, managing third party suppliers, ownership of digital Accessibility, Risks, Policy’s, training, development and HR to enable UX colleagues to deliver their work.
Key Accountabilities:
- Leadership – Reporting into Director of Digital and a core member of the Digital leadership team. Day to day leadership and management of the five UX teams, including line management of UX managers, all Product Designers & UX Graduates (circa 12 direct reports)
- Recruitment & Retention - Hire, manage and mentor. Awareness of UX community outside of the Bank allowing you to be reactive to changes to drive retention. Reviewing job roles, responsibilities and salaries regularly creating a mature UX team. Leading to better productivity and consistency for the business
- Team development – Support colleague’s personal development, developing future leaders and creating clear career paths
- Agile - Implement Agile UX processes to ensure delivery for key projects, scrum teams and BAU. Working in sprints. Ownership of bi-weekly sprint planning and retros. Adhering to and evolving departmental processes, committing to deadlines and working intelligently, prioritising workload effectively.
- Key Risks & Policy ownership – (2 key Policy’s) Adobe Target Policy. Accessibility Policy & Roles and Responsibilities document.
- Consumer Duty - Maintain knowledge of and adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements
- Third party supplier management – Adobe Target, Adobe Journey Optimiser, Adobe Analytics, Figma & Figjam, UserTesting, Digital Accessibility Centre, Money and Mental Health Policy institute, School of UX.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
- Strong extensive in a relevant leadership position.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage key projects and multiple teams simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal/ written communication and presentation skills
- Highly motivated and a passionate people leader
- Constantly up to date with new technologies and digital developments
- Financial sector experience
- Be passionate about all uses of design/information architecture/usability/accessibility.
- Experience working in an agile environment.
