The role:

 

As a Senior Leader within the bank you will be responsible for commercial leadership and strategic direction for pricing all the banks non relationship products across Retail and SME (Mortgages, Credit cards, Current Accounts, Savings).

You will be responsible for setting strategic direction and leading pricing for all Retail and SME products, and providing top level technical, specialist expertise and leadership to support decision-making and the deliver improved Commercial performance across CCO. Take ownership for pricing and strategy decisions and recommendations up to senior leaders and Executive level.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

Customer

*        Define strategic opportunities to change pricing to influence balance sheet movement, including influencing the product strategy.

*        Lead development of pricing strategies to feed in to balance growth plans and build on the Bank’s brand positioning through its Values and Ethics.

*        Work in conjunction with Director of Product to create pricing strategy, which pricing team can work with product managers to deliver pricing changes

*        Own the Base Rate change strategy.

*        Lead the development of a customer level Pricing policies, which provide fair value for customers.

 

People/Leadership

*        Key Member of the product leadership team

*        Champion a customer first culture which inspires and motivates all product colleagues to deliver success.

*        Lead, create and embed a high performance culture though role modelling strong leadership behaviours and encouraging a culture of continuous personal growth.

*        Support the cultural transformation required across the pricing team.

*        Role model and champion target Bank Leadership behaviours.

*        Work with the Product Teams and Head of Performance, Forecasting and Analytics and be an active part of a multi-skilled Product team.

 

Financial / Commercials

*        Lead the Pricing strategy for the bank, provide expert technical input into the banks business plan, identifying opportunities and risk to deliver of margin targets

*        Identify opportunities to drive financial performance and support the Product Team in putting plans and activity in place to realise these benefits.

*        Lead the design, development and oversee delivery of all Pricing model, pricing recommendation and competitor pricing impacts

*        Provide Leadership and support for the pricing team

*        Support the Director of Products in the development of the Strategic Vision for the business.

*        Own Pricing models and use this model to identify opportunities to proactively manage the Asset lending.

*        Present pricing recommendations to Bank committees, and deputise for the Director of Products at Trading and Pricing Committee as required.

 

Risk and Control Environment

*        Meet all regulatory, risk and control requirements and ensure that the appropriate governance controls are followed.

*        Actively challenge all key stakeholders, to ensure customer outcomes, service levels, operational costs and key control / quality metrics are in line with expectations.

*        Ensure pricing principles and decisions represent fair value for customers and deliver evidence to support the banks consumer duty committments.

* Communicate Pricing performance and strategies to the regulator as required

 

Technical capabilities

 

*        Makes decisions in relation to support provided and services carried out within company guidelines and broader procedures with substantial freedom in deciding on the best approach to deliver required outcomes.

*        Ability to make decisions in fact paced and complex pricing envi.

*        High level of commercial acumen and ability to prioritise multiple complex disciplines.

*        In depth understanding of Bank Product value drivers.

*        Proven experience of strategic influencing to a senior management level.

*        Prioritises own workload within context of agreed operating plan.

*        Operates within the Bank Delegated Authority Framework (Including the Financial Delegated Authority Policy) commensurate with role level.

 

Knowledge, skills and experience required

 

*        Extensive and in depth knowledge of the UK Financial Services marketplace, with proven experience of leading significant Banking products/categories (product strategies, pricing, product management, regulation, competitor activity, market developments and trends).

*        In depth understanding of critical value drivers, balance sheet dynamics and commercial outcomes.

*        Proven track record in pricing analysis and decision making.

*        Proven track record in stakeholder management.

*        Excellent communications / influencing skills evidenced through a number of techniques.

*        Proven leadership capability, particularly within Banking.

*        Proven presentation skills, both written and verbal.
