This role is Hybrid with the requirements to attend our Manchester office once a week. 

The role:

 

As the Head of Digital SME , you are responsible for the end to end lifestyle and digital product delivery, product roadmap definition, backlog development, management, prioritisation and communication. Identifying new product opportunities through market research and UX service design reviews whilst you will lead, develop, deliver and run the digital strategy for the digital product.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Develop and deliver the product vision and roadmap for the organisation, building consensus and excitement and making sure that the product initiatives support agreed business goals whilst working within the Bank’s risk management framework

  • Lead, motivate and develop the team to ensure there is an effective working environment, a talent and succession pipeline and a consistently high performing team with a customer centric performance culture

  • Empower team members, so that each may balance competing internal interests while delivering market-winning products

  • Work with multiple stakeholders and collaborate closely with Products and Marketing, UX, Architecture, Engineering and Change to deliver results and maximise benefit – balancing skillsets and personalities for the best outcomes

  • Be as comfortable in new concept development and prototyping mode as you are in relentless product improvement and optimisation mode

  • Balance the delivery of product, innovation, and business change within a budget and agreed timescales

  • Assure, manage and support live service for customers and colleagues through leading a service assurance improvement culture

  • Provide wider Leadership across all internal and external stakeholders to enhance colleague engagement, educate and develop a Digital first approach and enhance our reputation as the Ethical Digital Bank

  • Manage and own Digital Customer, Adoption and Commercial performance of the Product

  • Responsible for compliance to the digital and change and CoE principals, standards, policies and ways of working to ensure consistency Product development lifecycle

  • Risk owner for Product, with responsibility for management and resolution of risks and issues for product change, delivery and performance

 
 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

 

  • Extensive experience as a Digital leader- level experience within the B2C sector with proven track record of digital backlog management, product ownership and delivery
  • Excellent leadership skills with significant experience in motivating and developing high performing digital product owner teams
  • A strong track record of leading digital product innovation and launching commercially successful new products
  • Significant experience in market discovery, new product conception, building investment cases, marketing testing and go-to-market planning
  • Expert knowledge of the digital ecosystem, technology landscapes and ever changing and evolving trends
  • Expert knowledge of UX methodologies; conversion rate optimisation, A/B testing, service design and how to lead the development of these to deliver expected business goals
  • Proven track record of thinking strategically and transforming digital strategy into rapid execution using experience of leading a lean product focussed team which create value quickly and iteratively
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative and agile methodologies and environment
