We are excited to announce a brand new opportunity for a Data Architect. As the Data Architect you will be responsible for enabling the development of risk data and MI solutions and processes to meet The Co-operative Banks current and emerging business requirements. The Data Architect plays a key role in supporting Bankwide transformation agenda and BAU change activity through appropriate dependency management and common development. Key Accountabilities:
Change (Project & small BAU Change)
To lead stakeholder engagement for data development, providing a holistic approach to development and realignment of data and reporting systems to meet business requirements, ensuring integrity is maintained.
Support in providing high level solution assessments to change initiatives.
Provide detailed data impact assessments to change initiatives, designing strategic solutions and provide transparency between requirements and solution design
Lead the scheduling, approach and delivery of small change initiatives to ensure business alignment to strategic objectives.
To provide effective technical and professional advice and guidance in relation to data and reporting systems, database and architecture design.
Work across the Bank transformation portfolio, identifying data commonality and development opportunities to centralise and leverage existing developments – in doing so align to strategic roadmap and reduce change delivery costs.
Control (Risk, Finances, and process)
Proactively identify issues, risks, assumptions and dependencies both within, and across projects, formulate mitigating actions and implement measures to reduce, remove or manage them.
Support the improvement and development of standards across Data & MI for all aspects of the development lifecycle and delivery governance, working with the management team where appropriate.
Deputise for other Risk Data SME’s in their absence to ensure development progress is maintained and issues are resolved or escalated.
Leadership
Build and maintain relationships with a full range of internal stakeholders to enhance and maximise the provision of solutions.
Be able to present and demonstrate technical solutions, issues or risks both internally and to wider stakeholders.
Understand Banking Group data governance policies and strategies and evidence through development work
Demonstrate a solid understanding of the Bank’s RMF
To drive forward the Co-operative Bank’s culture and values.
A senior member of the Data and MI team, supporting the delivery of its business plans and identification of remedial action, where necessary to ensure success
Develop supportive staff relationships to foster a climate of staff development and succession planning
Technical Capabilities:
Understanding of the regulatory requirements and rules that govern the business activities that you are responsible, accountable or work within.
Knowledge of industry developments in data architecture, solution design, and reporting techniques
Data manipulation tool knowledge and experience (e.g. SAS DI)
Business Analysis experience.
Testing approaches.
Proven documentary skills.
Experience of working in a data environment, including an understanding of data integration principles and best practice in data and reporting solutions.
Strength in ability to identify solutions, setting expectations and project costing
Proven presentation skills, both written and verbal
Cloud
Knowledge Skills / Experience Required:
In-depth knowledge and experience of working in a multi-project environment.
Knowledge of business analysis techniques and in particular, good experience of capturing data requirements and the surrounding documentation.
Knowledge of industry developments in Data Management and experience in working to those principles.
Understanding of the regulatory requirements and rules that govern the business activities that you are responsible, accountable or work within.
Knowledge of industry developments in end-to-end change methodologies, specifically relating to capturing business requirements and testing.
Proven presentation skills, both written and verbal
Led change delivery teams.
Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to influence and deliver through a senior matrix structure of leaders.
Organised and methodical, with attention to detail.
