We promote a hybrid working environment, which means you will work at our office in Manchester roughly once a week and then remotely from home. To enable you to work from home, you will need have a suitable office set up which includes a desk and a chair in a location which is free from the interruptions of day-to-day life.
The role:
The Cyber Security Graduate Analyst role will be primarily within the Detect & Respond team with opportunities to work horizontally across the Cyber Security department. Graduates will get the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and where applicable, hands-on experience in protecting sensitive data and systems; gain a greater understanding of Cyber Security controls and tools to protect the Bank to ensure the Bank and its data remains safe and secure. Graduates will also understand risk management practices, understanding how to detect and manage vulnerabilities, implement security countermeasures, and strategies to minimise risks, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of data and systems. Graduates can contribute to developing solutions and improving existing security controls, bringing fresh perspectives and innovative ideas. Graduates can build a professional network, gain industry insights, and greater depth of Cyber Security Operations for future opportunities within the financial services sector and beyond.
Key Accountabilities:
* Regular involvement in the BAU Security Operational role with oversight of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) monitoring for data in transit,
* Having accountability for scheduling, scoping and oversight in external BAU penetration testing for Bank public websites,
* Involvement in Cyber FusionCell improvement initiatives,
* Planning, delivery and reporting Simulated Phishing attacks,
* Support Cyber Security training and education programme,
* Creation and distribution of Threat Intelligence Reports.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
* Technically proficient, ideally prior knowledge of common cyber threats,
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, building relationships with colleagues, working with both internal and external stakeholders,
* Analytical mind-set with good attention for detail,
* Effective reporting and documentation skills,
* Ability to work effectively and efficiently within a team,
* Willingness to learn, research and grow personal awareness of security trends, threats and technologies.
* Understanding of threat detection techniques, including signature-based and behavioural analysis.
* Knowledge of security operations principles and procedures, including alert tuning, false positive reduction, handling incidents and data loss prevention.
* Familiarity with security frameworks and principles (e.g. NIST, ISO 27001).
