The Co-operative Bank are longstanding advocates of hybrid and flexible working. During the pandemic our colleagues are working from home fully supported by our bank. As we look to the future, we will continue to offer remote working in roles that allow with the opportunity to spend up 1-2 days in the office per week if desired.

 

Open to applicants who are currently working as a Paralegal, or a newly qualified solicitor. Salary and development opportunities will be tailored accordingly. 

 

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Lawyer to join the Retail Banking team within the Bank’s Legal Department.

This role may be suitable for you if you are a legal executive, paralegal or newly qualified solicitor. Whatever your qualifications or career path to date, we are primarily looking for candidates with demonstrable experience of working within the regulated financial services sector.

This means that you could also be a regulatory compliance advisor in this sector who is looking to broaden their skills.

What you will need:

 

*       Educated to degree level or hold equivalent recognised professional qualifications

*       Previous experience within the legal or regulatory sector is essential (previous consumer credit experience from a financial institution is desirable).

*       We are particularly looking for an individual experienced in handling a wide range of legal tasks or problems with proven information analysis skills.

*       Enthusiastic about building an in-house legal career.

*       Team player; able to build relationships at all levels of the business.

*       Strong organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
