This is a great opportunity for a highly skilled and dynamic Leader with extensive experience in delivering complex engineering focussed change in financial services. The successful candidate will be passionate about learning and building high performance teams to deliver excellence through innovation and collaboration. Technical Debt will be a critical focus for this role both in terms of the current estate and also having a sound understanding of new technology in order to upskill, develop and invest in current teams and colleagues across the Bank.

 

Key Accountabilities for the role include:

 

*       Transformation of the data and IT engineering capability to enable delivery of quality products and live service support to meet the objectives of the business verticals.

*       Specify technical standards, tools, methodologies to which all IT development must conform.

*       Implement a ‘practice management’ matrix to support the development of key resources and roles within the COE and verticals i.e. Architecture, Engineering, Data and PMO.

*       Ensure quality products which optimise delivery within the business verticals, through transformation of an effective IT and data engineering capability

*       Deliver IT vertical scope, exploiting synergies with Red Simplification.

 

Knowledge Skills and Experience required

 

*       Experience in strategic planning and execution including implementation of complex IT and business change.

*       Experience and expertise of information technology and financial services operations, gained from working extensively with large, complex businesses.

*       Expert knowledge of programme and project management techniques (essential).

*       Deep understanding of process, technology and operational needs and challenges in large scale UK financial service organisations

*       Extensive track record in leading and transforming large scale IT organisations

*       Extensive IT engineering (devops/code/test) experience

*       Strong programme management / planning expertise required to co-ordinate and prioritise multiple projects simultaneously, adapting to changes in business requirements.

*       Experience of managing third parties to drive value through mutual, win-win outcomes.

*       Experienced at managing executive level regulatory relationships.

*       Adept at building high performance, assignment-based teams.

*       Track record in safely deploying change with minimal risk to service stability

*       Ability to shape own team, build capability and drive change, leverages diversity across teams, businesses and cultures.

*       Ability to build constructive strategic relationships across technology and business domains

*       Ability to influence at Exec and Board level.

*       Excellent presentation skills, both written and verbal.

*       Track record in waterfall and agile software development methodologies/mindse
