Legal and Corporate Governance
At Co‑op bank, we’re driven by doing the right thing for our people. Not one decision is made without the mark of our values. It’s woven in everything we do, and is the fabric of our business. We rely on our law and governance function to help put these threads in place. Supporting and advising our boards of the bank, our legal roles make a real influence all throughout our business, and the people who use it.
Legal and Corporate Governance Programme
If you’re interested in pursuing a career as a Para-Legal or Company Secretary, our progamme will give you the exposure and qualifications to get your career going.
You’ll delve into a breadth of areas that will allow you to experience all parts of the Law Function. You’ll explore rotations of Litigation Law, Commercial Law, and Company Secretariat, with an elective rotation in either Employment Law, or Retail Banking Law. You’ll also be given the opportunity to gain experience within the Risk directorate.
With the support of a mentor and a friendly team of professionals, you’ll find that we’re here for you every step of the way. You’ll have everything you need to drive your career forward as you study towards your Legal Executive, Para Legal or ICSA Chartered Secretaries qualification.
Are you made of the right stuff?
This isn’t a Legal Training contract so you won’t need a law degree. You will however need to be comfortable using your expertise in corporate law and governance to advise and influence at the highest level.
You’ll take on real responsibility with considerable influence from the get go, so we need someone highly driven and ambitious. Someone who can communicate clearly and concisely, and who can be trusted to keep our confidential information safe. There’s a lot to take in, so you’ll need to be able to process large amounts of information.
