We wouldn’t be an ethical bank if we didn’t care about people – and giving them the best possible opportunity to grow and develop their career. That’s how we make a difference. And we’re passionate about our new Apprenticeship Programme. It’s one of the ways we nurture new and internal talent for all ages.

The customer is at the heart of everything we do. So, naturally, we’re launching our Apprenticeship Programme with roles in our Contact Centre – where you’ll have the chance to achieve a level 2 in Financial Services Customer Adviser, and progress to level 3. It’s an opportunity that Jo Mayer, our Head of Customer Service and Experience, is proud to provide. “Supporting apprentices is what the Co-operative Bank is all about. It helps us attract enthusiastic talent and inject new ideas into the business.”

That’s just one of the routes you can take to start your journey with us. There are other paths and possibilities. For instance, after a four-month pre-employment programme, two apprentices have recently joined our finance department thanks to an enterprising initiative with our charity partners Leadership Through Sport. We will share more on this at a later date.

We’re committed to creating a variety of career pathways across our bank, as well as developing a diverse and inclusive workplace and culture. So as this valuable new venture gains momentum, we’ll be looking to offer apprenticeship opportunities  across the business – in IT, Risk and other areas, ranging from a Level 2 qualification right through to degree apprenticeships at Level 5 & 6.
